It’s Sunday Again

A collaborative work created with Yanti Sastrawan, this protest piece employs images of Olive trees, universally recognized as a symbol of peace, to convey the profound connection of Palestinians to their homeland. The depiction includes birds soaring in the sunlight, representing the tragic loss of children. Inspired by Marwan Makoul's poem,

'In order for me to write poems that isn't political, i must listen to the birds and in order to hear the birds, the warplanes must be silent'.

Upon careful listening, a subtle backdrop of buzzing flies emerges, symbolizing death and creating a poignant contrast with the otherwise beautiful imagery.
